Why Forever Memories?
Forever Memories is the brainchild of CEO Judith and husband Jaap Rabie. It originated with Creative Memories’ decision in August 2008 to withdraw from SA. Judy has been a dedicated consultant since their launch in SA 4 years ago, and spilled many a tear over this, not knowing that Creative Memories was actively searching for a competent replacement distributor. Both came to see it as an opportunity and Forever Memories was born, working on Creative Memories’ winning principals. Their daughter, Maryke, has been in Taiwan for the past 3 years and has sourced scrapbook products there and in China. She joined them at the end of January 2009.
This is a family business, created to combine Judy’s love for album making, or “documenting family history” as she calls it, and Jaap’s entrepreneurial skills.
Judy was hooked when a friend proudly showed her a half completed album, quickly overriding her query of any creative difficulties with the concept of classes and workshops. It became her love and joy. Before that Judy was involved for 20 years in marketing and operated her own studio and factory where she made porcelain dolls. She is aptly equipped to serve our consultants.
Jaap, a Business Consultant and Professional Accountant until 2007, has been in practice since 1985. Before that he served as marketing manager for a national concern. He has also been involved in his own property development, as well as developing resorts for the SA Army Foundation. He holds post-graduate qualifications in both Marketing and Accountancy. Jaap will keep a watchful eye on the bottom line and the business plan.
Maryke operated her own advertising agency before leaving for Taiwan, and is a graduate in Marketing. During her university studies she received various rewards, and brings a youthful approach to FM.
